Quest Worthy Box For A Legendary Subscription!

I recently got the Quests and Legends BookBoxClub October 2017 box and I’m so happy that I can share it with you guys! It was full of mythical things (as it always is) and some tiny baby legendary beasts!

The first thing I picked out was the beautiful spoiler card. The designs are always gorgeous and make a beautiful print to put up on your wall! (Mine are currently hiding on my book shelf, I really need to find a way to display them in all their glory).20171018_111327-11711351266.jpgThe second thing, which you couldn’t not notice, was this bundle of pink bubble wrap surrounding one of the most gorgeous mugs I’ve ever seen! It goes perfect with the fearless females coaster! And was designed by Four Seasons Fox and inspired by the featured read!

Next to come out of this box was something every October night needs, or afternoon as it turned out for me! That was a gorgeous hot chocolate kit designed by Maple Molly’s and inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia!

I had to try it straight away, and it was heavenly guys, like wow, I wish I could just have one-a-day for the rest of my life! I’d die a happy woman! It was that good!

The next too items were crafted from wood, with one featuring a quote from one of my favourite TV shows ever, and the other just a beautiful little thing(s) inspired by the featured read!

I’ve never had a wooden bookmark before, and in my opinion, it has one of the best quotes you could have! What reader could say it was wrong? It was crafted by the team at Hughes Lazer Design. And, these lovely little earrings by Kate Rowland make me want to get my ears re-pierced! They look like slices of Pizza a bit (I like them too so I don’t care), but they’re actually mountains and they are adorable!

And before I show off what we got as the featured read this month, here are all the little extras that the BookBoxClub included in the box. Some promo for some books (which sound awesome and have beautiful covers that I can display on my wall) and the cutest little Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion sticker you have ever seen! They were designed by the obviously talented Spanish Graphic Designer Wild Sally! And they now reside on my laptop, and I’m in love with them!

This month, the featured read is:

20171018_110736-11809278749.jpgThe goodreads synopsis reads:

Red, red, the lights glow red
Beware the danger up ahead…
On the frozen island of Skane, the sky speaks. Beautiful lights appear on clear nights, and their colours have meaning: Green means all is well, and the Goddess is happy. Blue means a snow storm is on the way.
And then there’s red. Red is rare. A warning.
Seventeen years ago, the sky turned red just as Ósa was born, unleashing a plague that claimed the lives of hundreds of villagers, including her own mother. This time, when the night sky once again bleeds crimson, she must discover how to stop the onslaught before so many lives are lost again.

It sounds like a tale full of adventure, myths, legends and just the book to cozy up with a hot chocolate on a cold night! I’ll be honest and say I’m a bit behind on BookBoxClub books, but, it’s more because I have so many books I want to read and I don’t have the time to read them, but their all books I would like, and whatever happens, I’m hoping I get the majority of them read by Christmas!

Birthday Celebrations Outlaws Unboxing

BooxBoxClub September 2017

This month, its BookBoxClubs Birthday, and to celebrate, they packed us a box full of goodies and treats, and, it was full to the brim! And, most of the items you’ll find here are exclusive to the bookboxclub and just made it all that much better!

The first thing I seen after I hid the info card so the box wasn’t spoilt for me, was this bookish tote bag! I love a good old bag, and the design is so pretty! It’s perfect for taking your books with you wherever you go, or buying more, and even my puppy decided he liked it enough to taste it!

The next thing to emerge from this lovely box of blue was a little note from Libby and Kate, and a little shortbread cookie, made by Nila Holden. It’s safe to say that the puppy didn’t get a taste of this, it was far too delicious to share, and went perfectly with my hot chocolate!

The next thing was a pair of Sante socks in honor of the heroine of Septembers featured read! Their so comfy and soft, and I don’t think they’ll last until the new year because I’ll wear them to death! And are the first pair of bookish socks I’ve ever had, so that’s gonna add a whole new concept to my bookish #SockSunday!

Next, was this gorgeous little magnetic bookmark by Marked by Hephaestus and it is so adorable, and such good quality! It’s in the shape of the most outlawish outlaw of all, Robin Hood! I’ve been waiting to get one of these, and it’s just wonderful! It’s also one of this months exclusive items!

The next bookish goodie to catch my eye was this little letter set inspired by four of our favourite bookish outlaws of all time – the marauders! It comes with three different prints x 2 with some gorgeous little orange envelopes so you have three to put up on your wall and three to send off to your friends! They’d make great little postcards!

This box also featured a second book, and I got ‘How to hang a witch by Adirana Mather’, an arc that doesn’t come out until January 2018! It’s a perfect book to read for October, and I’m looking forward to it so much! The cover is also very glossy, so trying to get a photo was a bit of a hinderance!

I took the featured book out next, but before I unwrapped it, I looked in the back of the box and found a few more things!

Hidden among the crinkled blue paper was this little lip balm inspired by Inej, one of the characters from Six of Crows that I still haven’t read yet! Its on the TBB list, don’t worry! I’ve heard too much about it not to get it! It was designed by Oriandle and was another exclusive to this box! It smells so good, you want to eat it!

Next was a pencil set inspired by John Green! I can add them in to my John Green pencil case now!

And, as always, some book promo! This month there were two samplers, which I think is great that they include, and a beautiful postcard! I’ve not heard of any of the books, but they all sound amazing and are books I would love to see on my shelves!

Lastly, I unwrapped this months featured book, a signed hardback called A Jigsaw of Fire and Stars by Yaba Badoe!

The story goes: Sante was just a baby when she was ashore, seemingly the only survivor of a tragic sinking of  ship carrying migrants and refugees. Fourteen years on, she’s a member of Mama Rose’s unique and dazzling circus. But, from their watery grave, Sante’s people call her to avenge them!

It sounds like an interesting book, and Sante is a younger protagonist, sort of a between middle-grade and YA that I haven’t seen much of so I’m excited to delve in to her world and see how her journey changes her!

And obviously, included was an invite to the book club meeting where you get to meet the author and talk about everything and anything Sante! I wasn’t able to participate much in this months book club chat, but can I just say, it got a bit saucy at times and had me belly laughing some times! These group of people could have their own talk show!

Again, like every other month, this box was wonderful, and although I still deeply love my first book box ‘Wizards at War‘, this may be my new favourite, but I’ll wait to see how the book pans out first! I also can’t thank Libby and Kate enough for what they do!

Next months box is Legands and Myths, so if you love Narnia and Game of Thrones, this is the book box you need to be subscribed too! But, be quick! Their almost sold out!

Life Lessons in the Schoolroom – Schoolroom Scandals Unboxing

BookBoxClub June 2017

A new month means a new bookboxclub box! This is my second box of (hopefully) many more and instead of one, it had two books to add to my to be read pile! I enjoyed Sebastien de Castells Spellslinger so much (find my review here) that I have no doubt I’ll enjoy this one!
The books included was the featured read and a mystery arc copy of a 2017 release!
If you are not subscribed yet,  you can sign-up here and follow their wordpress here!

So, obviously, first thing you see as you open up is the beautifully designed card teling you all about the things in this months box and where they came from! Also, this month, we got a little jar of jelly-beans because everyone needs a school yard treat! And it’s got my name on it too so my brother can’t eat them!

Followed by the signature paper strings that my dad hates finding all around the house… Oops!

The second of the bookish items I picked out once I uncovered the goodies inside was this beautiful candle! Made by Meraki Candles, this exclusive candle was made for the swoon worthy bad boy in this months featured read! I never knew rum, black lily and cedar wood could go together so well! It smells divine!

The next thing that caught my eye was this pack of 50 Remember post it notes by Paper Pipit! Great for your journal, fridge, wall, files and just about anywhere to help keep yourself ordered and organised!

Next, displayed in a lovely little cloth pocket was this Readers Ring by The Locket Library! With a 10% off voucher on my next purchase! I’ve browsed their store and am looking forward to using my code to buy me something beautiful!

I’m not all that in to rings, but as you can see… It’s useful for someone!

This month also featured a Hurricane Pencil case by the Book Box Club with a John Green quote! A perfect place to put your post-it notes and wands – ahem – pencils from last months Wizard at War Box (That unboxing can be found here).

As always, the box also featured some promotion for another book, and this month was a postcard featuring Hayley Barker’s Show Stopper! I think I’d add this to my TBR pile just for the cover!

Also, this adorable little Juniper Lemons HAPPINESS INDEX badge! I love badges and pins so this is just another one to add to my collection!

Now on to the books. This months featured book is a YA book by Karen McManus called One of us is Lying! I said this last month, but I’ll say it every month probably… I love how you get something with the authors signature on it!
And the mystery arc book that I got was After the Fire, a book released in January this year by Will Hill!

And, as always, there is a little scroll to open at the end with an invite to The Clubhouse to talk about this months featured book with the author and a little interview about the authors inspirations! This lady must be smart because she’d choose Mrs Weasley as a companion in a zombie apocalypse!

Again, I loved this box! Libby and Kate do a lovely job at putting them together every month and I’m super excited for next months theme ‘Spells and Remedies’ featuring items from The Literary Omnivore and Holly Grace Illustrations!

Thanks Bookboxclub!

And remember guys,

Just Keep Writing…

You might end up as a featured book in a book box one day!

Little Bit Of Magic – Wizards at War Unboxing

BookBoxClub May 2017

This post contains spoilers! If you haven’t received yours yet, make sure you wait, because it will feel much more magical if you do!
So recently, I received my very first BookBoxClubUK subscription box, and what a box to start on! I’ll be honest and say I was worried I might not like the book it came with, but I was pleasantly surprised, and from looking at previous boxes, I knew I would love all the little items it comes with because I love that sort of stuff!

So, the first thing you see when you open up the Wizards at War Box is this beautiful print introducing you to the box and the contents and where it comes from! I especially liked the loose stringy paper, and thought it was a nice and simple decorative effect!

The first thing you notice though, is the beautiful smell coming from the box! A sorting hat bath bomb from Scentd – that fizzles and pops in the bath and surprises you with the colors of your house and another little gift at the end (which I almost didn’t notice) – makes the box smell magical, and makes you smell magical too. It’s even personalised with your name which I think is a lovely touch, although, I am quite offended with the house I got…

The next thing I went to was the book at the back. It was what I was most excited, and most worried about, but I’ll be honest and say that it was so beautifully wrapped, I didn’t really want to open it!  However, curiosity got the better of me.

It is a beautiful hardback book by Sebastien De Castell, and it even has a signed print inside. I think that is such a nice touch, especially for people who admire authors, but won’t ever get the chance to meet them. The box also sports four tarat cards from the book itself and I’m honestly finding it hard to put it down!

The next thing I noticed and had been looking forward to since they did a supplier reveal was the item from The Potter Emporium. I was secretly hoping it would be a pin and I was not dissapointed. The lovely Albus Dumbledor, an exclusive pin to the BookBoxClub May Box.

After that, I got drawn to this lovely Darker Shade of Magic Print by Sip And Read. The print is textured and is just beautiful.

The next is this little notebook by Neon Magpie and it is the cutest!! Lord of the Rings is one of my favourite series (Movie series, I never managed to read the books – maybe one day I will) and this scene of Gandalfs is one of my favourites! And of course, for any notebook, you need some bookishly good pencils (which I hear could also double as wands with a bit of imagination).

A rolled poster that turned out to be the map from the Court of Rose and Thorns Series caught my eye next! I’ve heard so much about this series and seen it advertised all over Instagram, but I still haven’t picked it up yet! The next time I go to WHSmith, I’ll keep an eye out for it! Maps from TV, Book and Game Series are one of my favourite thing, and I currently have four on my wall right now, hopefully with the prospects of many more being added in the future.

The box also sported a little advertisement for ‘The Girl in Between’ by Sarah Carroll, which doubles up as a bookmark I am currently using to read SpellSlinger! There is some info about the book on the back and it looks quite interesting!

The box also includes a scroll inviting you to the Clubhouse for a Wzards at War book group with the author Sebastien De Castell, and a small interview with the man on his inspirations and motivations, and who he would choose to have with him in a zombie apocalypse. The guy seems like he’s got it all figured out!

Overall, the whole essence of the box was wonderfully magical, and if you loved the sound of it and aren’t subscribed yet, go ahead and order their June Box ‘Schoolroom Scandals’, and follow their Insta (bookboxclub) for supplier and future box theme reveals. If you love books and bookish items, you will love this box!

You can buy just a one month subscription, a three month subscription (which I choose to begin with) and a six month subscription. The longer the subscription, the cheaper the boxes get!
